Abstract

Today, it is indisputable that national and international journals provide sports scientists, trainers and athletes, along with sports fans, with the leadership, guidance and scientific facts necessary to reach valid, reliable and up-to-date information about both on-court practice and desk-bound program designs in the developing sports sciences and technologies. In this respect, it is clear that such a mission implies a demanding structure that requires self-devotion.
As for Serbian Journal of Sports Sciences, one can see that all these qualities are united in one single body. With new features added to its structure at the end of each year, its service in a multinational platform and its fast, effective and rational decision-making strategies, the journal continues to take its success one step further every year.
The quality and the size of a journal’s readership is one of its most important weapons. However, attracting superior audience is only possible with the excellence of the articles published and the competent, fast, effective and rational decisions of the editorial board. In short, an audience wishes to consume a quality product which in turn can only come from a quality producer, by walking through difficult paths.
In this light, a journal should always consider the qualities we mentioned above and it should question itself in terms of these features when it is presented in an international platform.
I can clearly and firmly state that SJSS’s distinctive strategies of presentation, introduction, questioning, high quality publishing and reaching its audience are making the journal closer to the position it deserves day by day.
Just as they tell champions, ‘It is not important where you stand; what is important is how long you can stand there and how further you can go.’ In this sense, I present my compliments to the SJSS team in which I am included as well and I would like to close by thanking those who make an effort to do something for science in this world.
